ZWSOFT previewed ZW3D WuKong 2027, the next major release of its integrated 3D CAD platform for product development and manufacturing.
Planned for global availability in September 2026, ZW3D WuKong 2027 adds updated parametric technology and improvements in model stability, regeneration efficiency, large assembly performance, mechanical design, sheet metal workflows and engineering drawing automation.
The release is intended for machinery and equipment manufacturers working with complex products, frequent engineering changes, large assemblies, shorter delivery cycles and production documentation requirements.
Updated parametric foundation
ZW3D WuKong 2027 includes a new generation of parametric technology designed to improve regeneration correctness, stability and efficiency across parts, assemblies and drawings.
The updated parametric foundation is intended to reduce issues that can occur after design changes, such as lost references, incomplete constraints, assembly update failures and inconsistencies between 3D models and engineering drawings.
Under applicable test conditions, model regeneration can be up to five times faster than in the previous generation. This can help engineers make design changes more efficiently when working with complex models.
Mechanical and sheet metal design updates
ZW3D WuKong 2027 will add tools intended to reduce repetitive work in mechanical design workflows.
Automatic Fillet allows engineers to create multiple fillets in one operation, which can be useful for castings and mechanical components with complex geometry. Draft Neutral Chain helps create draft features across complex geometry while maintaining references for later design changes.
The release also expands sheet metal design capabilities. New functions include Sheet Metal Fillet, Joint Flange, Merge Flange and Spline Edge Flange, giving engineers more options for creating, connecting and modifying sheet metal parts.
These updates are intended to help users complete detailed modeling work while maintaining design consistency and manufacturability.
Drawing automation updates
Engineering drawing creation is another focus of ZW3D WuKong 2027.
The release will enhance automatic drawing generation across sheet metal, surface and assembly design workflows. It can generate flat-pattern drawings, section views, bills of materials and exploded views based on associated 3D models.
Rule-Based Auto-Drawing applies predefined drafting rules to generate outputs aligned with company or project standards. Under applicable test conditions, the capability can reduce drawing preparation time by up to 80%.
Optimized geometric projection also speeds up drawing generation, with calculations up to five times faster than in previous versions under applicable test conditions.
Together, these updates can reduce repetitive drafting work and help maintain consistency between product models and manufacturing documentation.
Availability
ZW3D WuKong 2027 is scheduled to be available worldwide in September 2026.
Before the release, ZWSOFT said it will share additional information about parametric technology, large assembly capabilities, design automation and applications for machinery and equipment manufacturing.

Why manufacturers might care
CAD and PLM changes matter when they shorten the redraw/email loop for custom sizes. Watch for live geometry, validation gates, and manufacturing file handoff — not slideware alone.
